If you are looking to Jailbreak version 4.3.1 on your iphone and ipad than the wait is over. Thanks to the new version of Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9. It works for Windows and the Mac. Below are the links to download and also to the redsn0w hope page where there is even more information. 

By the way, if you bought yourself one of those new shiny iPad2 than the jailbreak is not for you. Currently there is no jailbreak for the ipad2.

Since the release of Limera1n from Geohot to jailbreak your iphone running 4.1. Greenpois0n from the Chronic Dev team has been released. The Greenpois0n program uses the same exploit Limera1n is using. The Chronic dev team has shelved the SHAtter exploit originally planned to be released, they have saved it for future use.

The advantage of Greenpois0n is that it is available for Windows, and linux. Below are the links to the download and their website.

The Chronic dev team also announced that apple TV jailbreak is coming as well as the greenpois0n version for the Mac.

After weeks of waiting finally you can jailbreak iphone version 4.1. This works on the iphone 4 and 3gs. The tool you will need is Limera1n.

Limera1n can also be used to jailbreak the ipad. Below is the link and some information from their website. For now you need windows to use Limera1n.

Update: When you jailbreak the iphone, you need open the limera1n app that appears, then from there choose to install Cydia. If it does not appear on the screen after installation then hold the power button and home button to turn off the iphone and then turn it back on, it should appear after that.
