I have tested the new version of the iphone released late January 2009 and I have had several issues with quick battery drain and crashes on the iphone. I wanted to make the video below to help you out if you want to downgrade the iphone to a previous version. Below are also the links to the firmware you will need for the 3G iphone and the 1st generation iphone. I also put below the link to the Quickpwn program you will need to activate the firmware once it is restored.

i am on tmobile and i have an iphone that has been jailbroke then last night i see an update on itunes so i did it and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode with 2.2.1 i dont have a pc i have a mac and i watch ur video on youtube last night i followed it step by step but on mine i dont hold shift i hold option then it started runing so i let it run all the way but i didnt get the 1013 pop up and my phone didnt go in to recovery mode it went to emergency call screen and i can call and people can call me and they can text me but i cant text back so i was asking if u know what to do

Thanks alot dear for downgrading my iphone 3G 16GB to 2.2, but there i have problem with signal not coming and also the Modem Firmware stuck on 02.30.03 I can’t change it to 02.28 … If you have any good tips like always that you can help me.

Regarding unlocked phone, I can’t help you. My iphones are connected with ATT. But I can tell you that the problem you are having is not common, I would try again the downgrade. Let me know.

Well as I told you I downgraded my iphone from 2.2.1 to 2.2 … What I did is upgrade again to 2.2.1 and I used Turbo sim and it works 100% fine with baseband 2.30.03. But still waiting for jailbrake to unlock my phone totally without using Turbo sim.

Nobody seems to be answering the question about baseband software, is it possible to downgrade this back to 2.28 as mine is now at 2.30 and as such, i cannot unlock the phone to any network.

this is great if you have windows. I have a mac and when I follow the instructions to hold shift or in my case option key, the firmware from your site is downloaded in the form of a folder and cannot be opened when holding option and clicking restore… .please help….

To all those who needs answers if one can downgrade his baseband to use yellowsn0w for unlocking again. No you can’t yet!!!! DevTeam has to find us a solution for this. Till now there is no possible solution for unlocking an iphone which is with 2.2.1 and baseband 2.30. When you downgrade firmware to 2.2 as shown in video above, baseband will remain 2.30 and yellowsn0w can’t unlock your iphone 3G again.

i have iphone 3g 2.2.1 jailbreak already,then my computer is crash and i need to reformat my pc.when i fix my pc all progams,documents are erase coz at that time i don’t have any back up disk so i decided to reformat w/o back up disk.when i install itunes all apps,musics,pictures are erase.then i decide to put musics in m itunes and plug in my iphone jailbreak they say if you click OK all the DATA etc. will be erase….my question is if i gonna click OK or SYNC my iphone is going back to normal iphone or unjailbreak??? or only my music,pics,apps,video will gonna erase but still jailbreak iphone???pls help thanks

Hello! First of all i want to congratulate you for the good tutorial :p . I’m having some iphone problems…a have an iphone 3G wich was upgraded to 2.2.1 and after 3 weeks after the instalion i couldnt get any carrier . i’ve watched your tutorial and downgraded the firmware to 2.2 and still no response and in the settings / general / network it tells me network : not avalabile. Do you know how can i solve this problem?…the modem firmware has not changed during the downgrade. and i think a have the same problem like naeem. i have 02.30.03 modem firmware. Hi. I followed your youtube instruction. Everything seems to run well but I got stucked at an apple logo after the downgrade (2.2.1 to 2.2). What I tried to do was use Quickpwn 225.1 and used the same ipsw i used with the iTunes. Again.. everything seems to be well but at the end..Now bootneuter hangs indefinitely at “determining current settings”. I tried to wait for more than 30 minutes nothing has changed so I decided to try it again. No luck…

Sorry mate, you method does not work, i have tried till i am blue in the face, everything upgrades fine until the 1013 error, when you want to take it out of dfu mode, nothing, i have tried holding the home and power button for 15sec like you said, and every time you restart the phone just goes back in dfu mode…. this is highly frustrating…………………………………………….

In the process of activation version 2.2, when I click on QuickPWN program, I do not get the message that you get. to downgrade from 2.2.1 to 2.2 it won´t work, don´t do it , you can´t change the baseband.
it works from 2.2 to 2.2.1. and don´t use yellowsnow if you have iphone 3g 2.2.1.

Great video, but I am having one problem. When I ask I tunes to locate the IPSW software it does not appear as a selection.
I know it”s there but the file extension is *.zip.
What do I do?
I am using a PC and Itunes 8.0.2.20, the iphone is a first gen that has never been jailbroke.

Im downgrade my iphont 3G from 2.2.1 to 2.2 – a do everything exactly right, like i see on video. And in the end when i shod restart the phone using QuickPwn – i cant install them.
When i try it to install i get mesege:
